drama in this family full of
pretentious princes but I think I
could solve our cash flow
problem if you lot would STOP
KILLING MY BUSINESS PARTNERS.
- Morifinwë ‘Caranthir’ Carnistir, to his brothers, cousins, and assorted followers, the Silmarillion, on more than one occasion.

Her last.
And then...she stands before someone out of lore. Scolding her for being so reckless - she shouldn't have died so soon. Yet her choice (not that she recalls ever being formally given it) to be counted among the Eldar granted her this joy.
To be judged by the Valar. By Mandos himself!
Even soul-sore and aching though, Canien is the product of two stubborn people. It helps support her, keeping her on her feet. It has her arms cross, stubborn, over her chest as she stares impassively back. Why fear someone who is angry she died?
Only her father has any right to lecture her like this.

well.
Agony, unexpected, unguarded against, down the one family bond he wasn't expecting
(Not Canien, no no no not his daughter he sent her away she's supposed to be safe!!)
Caranthir doesn't even feel the blade that goes through his stomach, his fea already trying to pull itself loose, because the one thing Haleth left him, the one precious thing he had left, it's gone, she's gone, what point is there if she's gone?
He's expecting Eternal Darkness, but no, no, not until he sees her first, not until he finds out.
Don't... don't
"Don't talk to my daughter like that!"
He somehow gasps out, and he's between her and ... is that Namo?

Her doing?
Maybe. She knows they have a bond strong enough.
Namo's eyeing them both, and she glares right back at him. Daring him to deny her father his rights, even now. But finally, the Vala steps away and invites them with a gesture to a perhaps more private place for the scolding she figures she deserves.
Canien makes herself available for her father to lean on if he chooses, looking away from the Vala as if he's...well. Nothing. Unimportant.

"Don't... take her away."
He gasps out, swaying back against her support and hating his weakness.
But Namo doesn't Doom him for anything, only beckons them away to another room, a quieter place, where it's just them, and he's so confused

Canien wraps her arms around him, holding him up, and helps him to the private room where they can sink down onto a few cushions and shake from reaction of rather violent deaths.

I am not making anyone leave he tells them. That is your choice, peredhel
"What?" Caranthir says, clinging to her in turn, still trying to put himself between her and him.
